Abstract
This article describes the sensing material, the fabrication process and the characteristics of a new contactless position sensor. The aim of the proposed sensor is the detection of a linear position using a magnetoresistive thin film based on Ag-Co alloy. The experimental results obtained using permanent magnets as mobile elements are presented and discussed.
