Abstract
Based on the Theory of Micromorphic Fluid Dynamics, a thermodynamically admissible and frame-independent theory of turbulence is introduced. Field equations, boundary and initial conditions are given. The theory is applied to obtain the solution of turbulent channel flow. Turbulent mean velocities predicted by the theory are in good agreement with experimentally measured turbulent mean velocities.
