Abstract
A hybrid dynamical system (HyDS) is a model which represents the coupling between continuous and discrete state systems. In this paper we introduce some models of dynamical systems evolving in a continuous variable state space and discrete phenomena. We will establish relations between a symbolic HyDS and a HyDS described by piecewise differential equations. This will allow us to present a simple study of a classical HyDS.
