Abstract
⺠Tatonnement dynamics can be either normalized or unnormalized. ⺠The three main conditions for global stability are gross substitutability, negative semi-definiteness, and diagonal dominance. ⺠The first two conditions yield global stability for both dynamics; the third is suitable only for normalized dynamics. ⺠A weakening of usual diagonal dominance yields global stability for non-normalized tatonnement. ⺠It is now known that all three conditions yield global stability for either dynamics.
