Abstract
⺠A property of a game is either ordinal or cardinal. ⺠The distinction leads to new results on stochastically stable equilibria (SSE). ⺠The pure strategy best response structure (PSBRS) of a game is an ordinal property. ⺠Under the adaptive play, SSE is shown to depend crucially on PSBRS. ⺠Under the single population random matching, SSE may be totally insensitive to it.
