Abstract
An entropy production density is defined for translation invariant exclusion processes on groups, as examples of spatially extended systems. It is associated with local instantaneous entropy production rates, and can be a substitution of the entropy production rate, which may not exist. We derive the formula of the entropy production density and show that it vanishes if and only if the process is reversible.
