Abstract
A first use of the κ-deformed Kaniadakis distribution in the context of nonlinear plasma waves is outlined. The deformed mean kinetic energy of the electrons is computed to narrow the values of the deformation parameter κ that underpins Kaniadakis entropy. As application, we examine the influence of κ on small amplitude ion-acoustic double-layers. Our results may contribute to the ongoing investigation involving alternative generalized entropies in plasma physics.
