Abstract
The synchronization (CS) and anti-synchronization (AS) of two non-identical inertial ratchets moving in different asymmetric potentials and transporting particles chaotically is demonstrated based on a technique derived from nonlinear control theory. It is shown that in the CS state, particle current is enhanced; while in the AS state, the particles transport current in different directions, suggesting that AS phenomenon could be exploited as a mechanism for particle separation.
