Abstract
For now 15 years, prevention of nosocomial infections has become a priority; it is organized around national, regional and local structures. At the hospital level, the main objectives of the Nosocomial Infection Committee and the infection control unit are the surveillance and prevention of nosomial infections (with a special focus on the surgical site infections in surgery wards), the control of the environment (Legionella, Aspergillus), the prevention of the dissemination of multi-drug resistant bacteria (by the reinforcement of the hands hygiene and the control of antibiotic use) and staff training to the good practices of care and the rules of asepsis.
