Abstract
We performed a study on the dielectric properties of BaxSr1âxTiO3-Mg0.9Zn0.1O (BST-MZO) composite ceramics derived from core-shell structured nanopowders with the shell of zinc doped MgO and core of BaxSr1âxTiO3. It was found that the ceramics exhibit a significant improvement in dielectric response under a DC electric field. The Curie temperature decreases more significantly in the BST-MZO composite ceramics compared to that of pure BST ceramics. The tunability of Ba0.75Sr0.25TiO3-40%MZO is 23.49% at 20 °C. The dielectric properties at high frequency also show low dielectric constant and great reduction in dielectric loss. These ceramics are expected to be useful in microwave devices.
