Abstract
In this paper, we study the relation between the energy consumption and the stability in several typical car-following traffic models considering the effects of many-neighbor and non-locality and relative velocity, respectively. The comparison of energy consumption with respect to the stable statue in these traffic models shows that minimizing the energy consumption will depend crucially on the stability of the model. Moreover, the distributions of the change of the kinetic energy of each vehicle in process of evolution are also discussed.
