Abstract
Dielectric properties, viz. dielectric constant εâ², loss tan δ and a.c conductivity Ïac (over a wide range of frequency and temperature) and dielectric breakdown strength of PbO-Sb2O3-As2O3 glasses doped with V2O5 (ranging from 0 to 0.5 mol%) are studied. Analysis of these results, based on optical absorption and ESR spectra, indicates that the insulating strength of the glasses is comparatively high when the concentration of V2O5 is about 0.3 mol% in the glass matrix.
