Abstract
⺠Threshold weakening is added to the cellular automaton slider-block model. ⺠A new behavior with quasi-periodic system-wide events appears. ⺠The model exhibits critical point phenomena with scaling exponents. ⺠The order parameter exponent is measured and compared to percolation theory. ⺠The punctuated ergodicity shown to be lost above the critical point.
