Abstract
A new tunable photonic crystal filter at visible band has been proposed and designed, depending on the characteristics of the defect modes of photonic crystals in different conditions. Modifying gradually the parameters of the lattice structure in a 2D photonic crystal with a 9Ã9 square structure provides a good optical tuning method one with an alterable dynamic range and a narrow bandwidth of 0.34Â nm at visible band has been obtained.
