Abstract
Recent advances in the study of protein interfacial electron transfer are described. Special emphasis is given to cytochrome c/self-assembled monolayer/electrode assemblies. Results on the ionic strength dependence of the formal potential, the change of electron transfer mechanism with increase of electron tunneling distance, and the most probable electron tunneling pathway are discussed.
