Abstract
TiAl-based intermetallics joined by vacuum induction brazing using Ag-Cu-Ni-Li filler at 850-970 °C for 1-10 min was investigated. The interfacial microstructure and strength of the brazed joints were comprehensively evaluated, and the optimum brazing parameters were obtained. Comparing the high-temperature-short time conditions and the low temperature-longtime conditions, the interfacial microstructure under high-temperature-short time conditions is more appropriate, whose interfacial microstructure is mostly non-equilibrium crystal, and it has fine mechanical properties. The optimum brazing parameters are as follows: brazing temperature is 920-930 °C, brazing time is 1-2 min, the largest tensile strength is 324 MPa.
