Abstract
The mechanism of non-equilibrium excess volume generation in grain boundaries during plastic deformation is considered. A numerical analysis of kinetics of self-diffusion along non-equilibrium grain boundaries during deformation and annealing is made for a model polycrystal. The influence of strain rate and grain size on the diffusion coefficient is investigated.
