Abstract
Single crystals of UCu0.9Sb2 have been grown using the self-flux method and studied by means of X-ray diffraction, magnetic and electrical transport measurements. This compound crystallizes in a tetragonal structure of the HfCuSi2-type (space group P4/nmm) and orders ferromagnetically below TCÂ =Â 113Â K with the easy-magnetization direction along the c-axis exhibiting a large magnetocrystalline anisotropy in both the ordered and paramagnetic states. The electrical resistivity, magnetoresistivity and thermoelectric power data are also given. A Kondo-like behaviour of the resistivity in the paramagnetic state is reported.
