Abstract
New inelastic neutron scattering data for ErFe2Si2 and Tm169 Mössbauer spectra for TmFe2Si2 are presented. These data are analysed in terms of the crystal field acting at the rare earth site and new crystal field parameters are presented. The new crystal field parameters are compared with previous parameters to show the systematics associated with a change in transition metal.
