Abstract
The effects of melt superheating treatment on microstructure of Mg2Si/Al-Si-Cu composite is investigated. The results show that, with the increasing of melt superheating treatment temperature, the morphology of the primary Mg2Si particulates change from coarse dendritic to equiaxed, and their size decreases from larger than 150 to â¼40 μm. The eutectic Mg2Si phase changed from Chinese script type to massiveness and/or needle like.
