Abstract
The release of hydrogen from two batches of milled LiAlH4-2 mol % TiCl3 was studied by temperature-programmed desorption and in-situ X-ray diffraction. Milling at room temperature can cause decomposition into Li3AlH6. Our results suggest that the decomposition occurs because the TiCl3 addition reduces the temperature of the LiAlH4 to Li3AlH6 decomposition to values near room temperature.
