Abstract
Crystal structures of some new compounds have been determined using X-ray powder data. The intermetallic compounds YbZn1.75Al2.25, SmZn1.62Al2.38, NdZn2.34Al1.66 have the BaAl4-type structure (s.g. I4/mmm). Other compounds adopt the La3Al11-type structure (s.g. Immm): Y3Zn3.2Al7.8, Gd3Zn3.4Al7.6, Tb3Zn4.6Al6.4, Dy3Zn3.4Al7.6, Ho3Zn4.4Al6.6, â¼Er3Zn4Al7, â¼Tm3Zn4Al7.
