Abstract
Mn-doped CuAlO2 bulk samples have been synthesized by solid state reaction. The solid solubility x of Mn in CuAl1âxMnxO2 is about x = 0.05. The temperature dependences of the susceptibility of all samples exhibit a paramagnetic behavior and the Ï-T curves were fitted by the Curie-Weiss law Ï = C/(T â Î) above 2 K. The Curie constant C decreases linearly with increasing Mn content x. The Arrott-plots (H/M-M2) indicate no long-range magnetic order. H/M-M2 plots were fitted by using third order polynomials, yielding a decrease of the zero-field susceptibility Ï(0) with increasing x. There is no evidence for a ferromagnetic transition above 2 K in the Mn-doped CuAlO2 system.
