Abstract
The CuInSe2-CdIn2Se4-In2Se3 part of the quasi-ternary Cu2Se-CdSe-In2Se3 system was investigated by differential thermal analysis (DTA) and X-ray diffraction analysis. The phase diagrams of six vertical sections, the liquidus surface projection and isothermal section were constructed. The character and temperature of mono-variant and invariant processes of the In2Se3 reach part of the system were determined. The existence of a new quaternary Cu0.6Cd0.7In6Se10 phase which melts incongruently at 1118 K was established. Its crystal structure (space group P3¯m1, a = 0.40498(2), c = 3.2886(2) nm) was determined using X-ray powder diffraction.
