Abstract
Magnetization and neutron diffraction studies have been carried out on CeScSi-type TbxEr1âxTi0.85Mo0.15Ge compounds (space group I4/mmm, no. 139). These compounds demonstrate ferromagnetic collinear 1 (FC1), ferromagnetic collinear 2 (FC2) and ferromagnetic non-collinear 1 (FNC1) types of ordering. Below TFC1Â =Â 131Â K for Tb0.25Er0.75Ti0.85Mo0.15Ge and TFC1Â =Â 194Â K for Tb0.5Er0.5Ti0.85Mo0.15Ge the magnetic structure of these compounds consists of ferromagnetic (0Â 0Â 2) rare earth double layers with magnetic moments of rare earth atoms the [0, 0, Mz]. Below TFC2Â =Â 242Â K for Tb0.75Er0.25Ti0.85Mo0.15Ge and TFC2Â =Â 280Â K for TbTi0.85Mo0.15Ge the magnetic structure of these compounds consists of ferromagnetic (0Â 0Â 1) layers with magnetic moments of rare earth atoms the [Mx, 0, Mz]. Below TFNC1Â =Â 63Â K for ErTi0.85Mo0.15Ge, TFNC1Â =Â 14Â K for Tb0.5Er0.5Ti0.85Mo0.15Ge, TFNC1Â =Â 29Â K for Tb0.25Er0.75Ti0.85Mo0.15Ge and TFNC1Â =Â 75Â K for TbTi0.85Mo0.15Ge the magnetic structure of these compounds consists of ferromagnetic (0Â 0Â 2) layers, but the magnetic moments of R atoms in the neighbouring layers are non-collinear.
