Abstract
DyPdAl single crystals grown by the Czochralski method crystallized in the hexagonal ZrNiAl-type structure. The measurements of the lattice parameters, electrical resistivity and magnetic properties confirmed the absence of an iso-structural transition similar to HoPdAl and contrary to GdPdAl and TbPdAl. The effective magnetic moment agrees with the free ion value of Dy3+. Palladium does not contribute to density of states at the Fermi level. The dysprosium sublattice orders at 25Â K. Below 17Â K, a reorientation of the magnetic moment is observed.
