Abstract
Novel phosphor of Eu2+-doped SrLaGa3S6O was prepared by solid-state reactions at 900 °C and H2S atmosphere. The excitation and emission spectra of this phosphor showed that all were broadband due to 4f7-4f65d1 transitions of Eu2+. The phosphors with different Eu2+ concentrations presented yellowish-green luminescence for both UV and visible excitation (200-500 nm). The concentration quenching mechanism was verified as quadrupole-quadrupole interaction and the value of the critical transfer distance was calculated as 17 Å. The fluorescence lifetime of Eu2+ was also measured.
