Abstract
The aim is to investigate the effect of the substitution of Ag for Ni and Co for Ga on the martensitic transformation in Ni-Fe-Ga magnetic shape memory alloy. A complete thermoelastic intermartensitic transformation in the Ni56.5Fe19.0Ga24.5 alloy was observed in the vicinity of 300Â K and the intermartenisitic transformation diminished with alloying with Ag and Co. Substitution of 1.0Â at% Ag for Ni results in the MS temperature decreasing slightly, while substituting 4.5Â at% Co for Ga, the MS temperature increases dramatically from 300.54Â K to 388.24Â K.
