Abstract
We present a new method of poly(3-methylthiophene) (P3MT) deposition on solid substrates by in situ polymerization. We show that the polymer can be prepared on a variety of different solid surfaces including conducting and nonconducting, planar and nonplanar substrates. The poly(3-methylthiophene) obtained by this method reveals good optical, electrochemical and mechanical properties. The preparation of the polymer in form of thin films (on flat surfaces) or three-dimensional structures [using templates, e.g., polycarbonate (PC) membranes] has been demonstrated.
