Abstract
In the present work, we have measured the stopping forces in aluminum and silver by 3He/4He at 0.25-1.5 MeV/amu, 6Li/7Li at 0.1-0.9 MeV/amu and 10B/11B at 0.1-0.6 MeV/amu. A self-supporting method with a partially coated detector was employed to measure the stopping forces in Al and Ag targets. The detector system was mounted at the 0° beamline of a 3 MV tandem accelerator system performing ion bombardment experiments. The SRIM 2003 simulations and other findings are also included for comparison. The results reveal the measured data appear to be in comparable agreement with the predictions of SRIM 2003 and the other findings. However, there is a small discrepancy between the measured data and the SRIM 2003 predictions for the boron isotopes. In comparison with the data, it seems that no significant isotope effect of the stopping force is observed in this energy region.
