Abstract
A theoretical study is reported on adiabatic processes involving an initially unbound two-body system. The system consists of a positron and an antiproton in a magnetic field. For parameters associated with recent antihydrogen production experiments, computer simulations indicate that it is possible for quasi-bound states to form adiabatically. An expression for the cross section of the formation of quasi-bound states is obtained, and reasonable agreement with simulation results is found.
