Abstract
In recent years, the Dirac program has been found an easy-to-use and reliable (computer-) algebraic tool for dealing with the Coulomb wave and Green's functions from atomic theory. Here, we briefly review the present status of this tool and illustrate how it can be applied for studying the photon emission of highly charged ions.
