The aim of this paper is to present how the economic situation affected the evolution of the entrepreneurial activity in Romania and Hungary in the last few years including the in the post-crisis period. We will have a look at the attitudes, perceptions and aspiration towards entrepreneurship in Romania and Hungary and will briefly outline some of the similarities and differences between the indicators in these two European countries based on the GEM framework.The paper will provide a brief overview of some entrepreneurship related indicators and will be used for an future introductory analysis, which is meant to provide the basis for further investigation in order to thoroughly understand the connection between entrepreneurship and economic development
