The paper presents a historical research of the demographic development of Kazakhstan for the last hundred years, which is divided into six stages, and reveals the characteristic features of each stage with respect to the indigenous nation. We conducted the correlation analysis to determine causal relationships of the birth rate per thousand people with such factors as employed male population, proportion of the population below the poverty level, average men's salary, housing per person. Consequently, the main problems of demographic development were identified, and recommendations to improve the demographic situation of the country were provided. Thus, economic mechanisms to address and solve demographic problems of Kazakhstan were considered for the first time.
