Abstract
This paper details a preliminary modeling study of three beach fill projects in Florida, based on planform modeling using a one line numerical model and analytical modeling techniques. The study provides two different approaches to modeling (shoreline response and volumetric response per linear measure of beach length) to compare beach performance prediction with actual measurement data. The analytical modeling theory and the one line numerical model comparison includes one hypothetical case and differences between the two types of model results are noted. A discussion of performance prediction results with actual project measured performance for the three beach fill projects is provided.
