Abstract
In the context of rapid development of retail, using the new communication and information technologies is an effective way of ensuring competitiveness in this sector. Considering the fact that e-commerce is the most dynamic sales channel, an analysis of its evolution in Romania is particularly useful in terms of adapting to the global development trends. For this purpose were processed and analysed information obtained as a result of direct quantitative research (survey). The main conclusion of the research is that new commercial technologies will spread fast at a global level and this trend has already been seen in our country.
