Abstract
Taking into account the changes in recent years (the increased access to internet, the existence of affordable mobile devices and the ease of communication due to the growth of social media) it seems natural to investigate social media's impact on healthcare services. Furthermore, studies conducted worldwide show their benefits, both in terms of the patient, as well as the healthcare providers’. However, Romania's healthcare system faces serious problems on basic aspects. Thus, using secondary data, this paper aims to present the existing concerns about the impact of social media on healthcare services and to discuss to what extent they are applicable also in Romania.
