Abstract
Er3+/Yb3+:Sr3Y(BO3)3crystal with dimension of Ï20Ã30 mm3 has been grown by the Czochralski method. The absorption band at 980 nm has an absorption coefficient 11.7 cmâ1 and FWHM of 11 nm. The emission band at 1450-1650 nm corresponding to 4I13/2â4I15/2 transition of Er3+ was observed under 977 nm exciting. The fluorescence lifetime of the upper 4I13/2 level of Er3+ in Er3+/Yb3+:Sr3Y(BO3)3 crystal was 700 μs at 300 K.
