Abstract
Single-crystalline bismuth selenide nanorods were synthesized on a large scale by a convenient solvothermal method. The as-prepared bismuth selenide was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. And a possible formation mechanism was proposed. The band gap of the as-prepared Bi2Se3 nanorods is about 1.5Â eV, indicating a blue-shift phenomenon relative to the bulk.
