Abstract
Single crystals of Cu2CdGeS4 are of potential interest for thermoelectrics and non-linear optical applications in the near-infrared region. Taking into account the negative thermal expansion coefficient of Cu2CdGeS4 parallel to the b-axis, successful single-crystal growth was achieved by the vertical Bridgman method using b-oriented seeds. Refinement of the Cu2CdGeS4 crystal structure was performed using powder X-ray diffraction data.
