Abstract

The paper is focused on the performance and growth of the Eurozone export in the period of 1999–2012. The results of the empirical analysis show an increase of the export performance in the 12 euro area countries measured as export divided by gross domestic product and an increase of the export performance in all 17 countries of the euro area measured as export per capita. The biggest export performance was recorded in Belgium, but the biggest increase of the export performance was recorded in the new member states of the Eurozone. The factors of the growth of the euro area's export that have shown themselves to be statistically significant were the size of economies and the exchange rate. The results of the analysis were obtained by using the mathematical-statistical method and regression analysis and are discussed and graphically displayed.
