Abstract
Samples of magnetic glass-ceramics SrFe12O19-SrSiO3 were obtained by a heat treatment of the oxide glass at temperatures of 700-1250 °C. The materials were investigated using XRD analysis, magnetic measurements, electronic microcopy, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and thermal analysis. The magnetic phase started to develop at 700 °C and the fully crystalline SrFe12O19-SrSiO3 material formed at 1000 °C. The particles of SrFe12O19 phase demonstrated plate-like shape with the size and aspect ratio dependent on the thermal treatment conditions. The coercive force of the samples synthesized at 700-950 °C increased sharply from low values to 4700 Oe, and for samples prepared at higher temperatures it reached 5050 Oe.
