Abstract
This review describes some of the synthetic routes used to fabricate magnetic nanoparticles useful in the biotechnology field. In addition to this topic, we pay particular attention to summarize literature reports that describe some of the recent applications in the biomedicine field derived from the use of the magnetic nanoparticles produced by the synthetic routes reported here.
