Abstract
Experiments on the relaxation of magnetization as well as on the rheological properties of a ferrofluid with strongly interacting particles have been undertaken. The strength of the magnetoviscous effect as well as the coupling parameter between the magnetization relaxation and the symmetric velocity gradient have been related to the microstructure of the fluid.
