Abstract
A study of the magnetic properties of (FexCo100âx)3Pt (0⩽x⩽50) ternary alloy thin films in conjunction with the structure has been carried out. At x⩽10, the existence of hcp (m-DO19) phase is realized. This m-DO19 phase is found to exhibit the large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (Kper) (â¼107 erg/cc). There is a maximum in Kper at about x=10. The Kper is found to decrease with x (x>10), which is correlated with the structural transformation.
