Abstract
In the present work, ways of reducing sintering temperatures of high-permeability NiZn ferrites were considered. It was found that optimum additions of CuO and V2O5 contributed to the grain growth and the densification of matrix in the sintering process, leading to decrease in sintering temperatures of NiZn ferrites. The post-sintering density and the initial permeability were also strongly affected by the average particle size of raw materials. Using raw materials of 0.8 μm average particle size and adding 10 mol% CuO and 0.20 mol% V2O5, a NiZn ferrite with initial permeability as high as 1618 and relative loss coefficient tan δ/μi of as low as 8.6×10−6 (100 kHz) were obtained at only 930 °C sintering temperature.
