Abstract
A YBCO film was deposited on Hastelloy tape with highly oriented CeO2/Gd2Zr2O7 multilayer using multiple-stage chemical vapor deposition. The microstructures of the YBCO coated conductor were examined in detail using transmission electron microscopy. Analysis indicated a YBCO film about 1 μm thick was deposited and consisted mainly of c-axis oriented grains. However, a-axis oriented grains were also observed in the YBCO film, and these a-axis oriented grains grew larger with increasing thickness of the YBCO film.
