Study on quench protection of magnets wound of YBCO coated superconductors with locally fluctuating critical currents

In this study, we also calculated the influence of the fluctuations in local critical currents and the amount of silver stabilizer required on end-to-end critical currents and n values of long-length tapes. The calculations show that the amount of stabilizer required can be determined on the basis of end-to-end critical currents regardless of the fluctuations in the local critical currents.
