Abstract
The variation of the lattice parameters of Bi-2212 has been measured using a high-temperature neutron diffraction technique. The samples have been doped with oxygen at different pressures from 2 to 400 mbar and at different temperatures from room temperature to 750 °C. It was found that the lattice parameters of Bi-2212 were dependent on temperature and oxygen content, increasing with temperature but decreasing with oxygen content. The values derived for the thermal expansion coefficient in an oxygen partial pressure of 400 mbar were compared with previous data from powder diffraction measurements at comparable oxygen pressure.
