Abstract
Commensurability effects can rise when vortex lattice interact with periodic pinning arrays on a superconductor. The ground-state properties of a two-dimensional system of superconducting vortices in the presence of a periodic array of strong pinning centers are studied through Monte Carlo simulation in the London limit. Anisotropy in melting temperature for vortex lattice interacting with rectangular pinning can be found through different anisotropy degree and vortex density prompting a smectic phase.
